Privacy policy

Effective 17 October 2026. Plain language first: your documents never leave your device unless you share them.

Summary

My Scanner is built so that your documents never reach us. Scans, images, recognized text and file names are stored and processed only on your device. We have no account system and use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

This policy explains the small amount of information that is processed to run the app and its subscriptions, who processes it, and the choices you have.

Your documents

Everything you scan or import in My Scanner, including images, PDFs, recognized text (OCR) and file and folder names, is stored inside the app on your device. iOS encrypts this storage with Data Protection when your device is locked.

  • We do not upload, receive, view or store your documents.
  • Edge detection, image cleanup, text recognition all run on your device.
  • A document leaves the app only when you choose to export or share it, for example to Files, Mail or another app. What happens next is governed by the service you share it with.
  • PDFs you password-protect are AES-128 encrypted.

Device permissions

The app asks for permission only when you use a feature that needs it:

  • Camera: to scan documents. Camera images are processed on the device and never uploaded.
  • Face ID: to unlock locked folders. Face ID is handled entirely by iOS; the app never receives your face data.
  • Add to Photos: only when you choose to save a page as an image to your photo library. The app does not read your photo library; importing uses the system photo picker, which shares only the photos you select.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

Payments are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your name, email address or payment details.

To confirm whether you have an active subscription or a lifetime purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service provider. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous identifier created by the app and your purchase history (which product, when it was bought, renewal and expiry). This information is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising and is not used to track you across apps or websites. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Crash reports

The app contains no crash-reporting or analytics software from third parties. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These never contain your documents. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website and email

This website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising. It is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google), which may process standard technical information such as IP addresses in server logs to deliver and secure the site.

If you email us at anghanramesh25@gmail.com, we receive only what you choose to send, including anything you send through Report a problem in the app. We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we delete support conversations when they are no longer needed. Please do not send us copies of sensitive documents.

Keeping and deleting data

Your documents stay on your device until you delete them. Free users see a 5-second Undo after deleting, then the item is permanently removed. PRO users keep deleted items in Trash for 30 days, after which they are permanently removed. Deleting the app deletes all documents stored in it, so export anything you want to keep first.

The anonymous purchase records held by RevenueCat are kept as long as needed to provide your purchases. Because they are not linked to your identity, we may not be able to find a specific record, but you can contact us and we will help where we can.

Children

My Scanner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and US state privacy laws give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we hold almost no personal data, most requests can be answered quickly. Contact us at anghanramesh25@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
